Surrounded by ancient fields and olive groves, Olealand is a new residential complex by AVAX Development where rural simplicity meets contemporary living. Situated near the village of Maleme in Crete, the project draws inspiration from local vernacular architecture and has been envisioned as a kind-natured heaven where time seems to stop — the perfect place for creating new, carefree memories.

AG Design Agency was invited to create a total brand identity for Olealand, with the main goal being to define the property’s unique and attractive characteristics through a series of touchpoints. The branding work began with the naming, which was based on a detailed brief and had to capture the essence of the location, the architectural concept, and the experience of living in this unique property.

The chosen name evokes an entire world of Cretan orchards; an enchanting land of beauty and calm, waiting to be discovered. This feeling is amplified by the logo, where the form of an exquisite bird seems to be magically conjured out of the sacred leaves of the olive tree (olea).

The overall brand identity is quiet, sophisticated, and grounded. Warm terracotta meets elegant serif type to convey a sense of elevated living in nature and a deep connection with the earth. This visual language is complemented by an evocative brand story to create promotional material, such as brochures, in-sight signage and digital communications. With its roots deep into the Cretan primordial landscape, Olealand marks a journey back to the roots, with a touch of dreamy sensuality and easy Mediterranean living.
